Your Lens profile and search: what a public pro page does and does not do

How the public Lens pro page works for search engines: crawlable HTML, structured data, clear titles and portfolio text, plus honest limits and what you can do to help.

Plenty of excellent photographers and videographers never built a website. Every Lens pro profile also has a public page at lens.madmonkey.media/pro/your-name that search engines can read. Here is what that page does for you, and what it cannot promise.

What the public page does

  • Renders as real HTML on the server. Search engines do not have to run an app to read your name, specialty, location, bio and portfolio text.
  • Includes structured data. The page carries schema.org markup describing you as a person offering a service, with breadcrumbs. Structured data helps search engines understand what a page is about.
  • Has a clear title and description. Your name, specialty and location are written into the page title and meta description.
  • Is listed in the Lens sitemap so crawlers can find it.

What it does not do

  • It does not guarantee rankings. No one can honestly promise a position in Google or any other search engine.
  • It does not guarantee rich results. Search engines decide whether to show enhanced results, even when markup is valid.
  • It does not replace your own website if you already have one. Think of it as a strong, crawlable listing that links back to you.

What you control that helps

  1. Write specific text. "Wedding and event photographer in Fort Worth" gives search engines and people more to work with than "photographer."
  2. Tell project stories. Portfolio project descriptions are text on your public page. Describe the job, the type of client and the result in plain words.
  3. Keep your location and service area accurate. Local searches depend on it.
  4. Link to your page. Add your Lens URL to your Instagram bio, email signature and Google Business Profile website field if you do not have another site.
  5. Stay consistent. Use the same business name everywhere you appear online.

Reviews and ratings

Lens does not show made-up ratings. Reputation scores and reviews on a profile come from work completed through the platform, so a new profile starts without them. That is on purpose: a real record, built job by job, is worth more to you and to clients than a number nobody can trust.
